The F1C has been specifically designed for Light Commercial Vehicles, and is the result of more than 40 years of experience in the field.
Exceptional load response and extremely efficient power and torque output are achieved with advanced air handling systems, such as the electronically controlled variable geometry turbo compressors.
All engine features have been developed to improve reliability, durability and serviceability. F1C engines feature dual mass flywheel, multiple fuel injection, suspended oil pan and bed-plate in addition to the engine block.
All F1C engines are available for both transversal and longitudinal installation. The models can be customized on demand (options include radiator, air filter, muffler and fittings for air compressor and air conditioning installation).
F1C engines lead the category in terms of power and torque density. Transient time-to-torque is the shortest in its class. Thermodynamic performance is optimized by advanced air handling systems. Starting temperature (with glow plugs) can be as low as -25° C.
The exceptional efficiency of the F1C engine was achieved thanks to the combination of multiple elements: variable geometry turbo compressor, engine friction reduction, variable displacement oil pump, cooling system optimization, downspeeding calibration, latest-generation Common Rail technology, multi-valve distribution, maintenance-free hydraulic valve adjusters and advanced air handling systems.
20,000 hours on the test bench and 1.5 Mln km of testing in the fleet to set a new benchmark in terms of durability at 400,000 km. Mechanical excellence, optimized DPF regeneration and minimum oil consumption allow service intervals to be extended to 50,000 km.
All the F1C engines are heavy duty approved. Compliance with the Euro VI E standard is achieved thanks to the EGR + DOC + SCRoF + SCR + CUC solution, optimized for urban missions with reduced load and low exhaust temperatures, as well as for suburban use.
