The F1 / S30 Series is offered in high-performance, light-duty and medium-duty versions, and can be customized on request. The wide range of options includes monitoring systems, stern drives  pre-arrangement, propulsion and emission certifications.​​

The engine adopts state-of-the art solutions – such as Electronic Common Rail and multi-valve technology – in order to provide maximum power density (up to 56 kW/litre) and rapid response also at low revolution ranges.

Common Rail accurate fuel delivery allows F1 engines to achieve high torque and power performance with minimum fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions.

Advanced diagnostic equipment allows easier engine servicing. Up to 600 hours oil and filters replacement intervals minimize downtime. To reduce maintenance and increase engine lifespan, the F1 Series adopts oil-cooled pistons and valve-clearance hydraulic adjustment for the chain-driven dual overhead camshaft.

Lay-out and specific settings are focused on marine duties. Both engine and turbocharging cooling systems are specifically optimized for the mission. In order to make installation easier (and prevent leakage), the oil cooler, oil pump, water pump and blow-by system have been integrated into the engine design.
