The race, which celebrated its 10thbirthday this year, started on December 31stin Monaco and continued for twelve stages throughout Morocco and Mauritania, while the finish line was in Saint-Louis, Senegal. This edition gathered more than one hundred vehicles and nearly 200 riders at the starting line: an impressive number that didn't scare Gerard van de Rooy and its co-pilots who won due to their talents and to the powerful FPT Industrial engines.

These 13-liters engines have been especially engineered for this challenging race, being able to reach a maximum power of up to more than 1,100 hp and a maximum torque of up to more than 5000 Nm. Their reliability, instead, was proved by FPT Industrial's long-lasting experience in on-road long haul missions and in the previous editions of other competitions, such as the Dakar, which De Rooy won in 2012 and 2016.A long-lasting victorious presence: FPT Industrial participated in the last 7 editions of the race and is an Official Supplier of the Dakar rally since 2017.
