On 9 November of this year, during the National Biodiesel Board’s NBB Technical Workshops held in Kansas City, FPT Industrial received the “Researcher of the Year 2021” award for its work and technical investment in biodiesel research.
In partnership with the National Biodiesel Board and the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL), FPT Industrial provided an NEF 6 cylinder engine with U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final certification and tested it in extreme duty conditions at the NREL labs in Colorado. And the outcome? Very impressive performances with every type of biodiesel blend, but also the urgent need to approve a larger number of blends in double-quick time.
In fact, the aim is to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and speed up the energy transition to the greatest possible extent.
