Accelerating the energy transition at EIMA International with FPT Industrial

FPT Industrial’s presence at EIMA International 2021 – the international agricultural and gardening machinery exhibition, held in Bologna from 19 to 23 October – was both significant and powerful. As a matter of fact, the Brand took advantage of this very important occasion to demonstrate and show off its road map for the creation of a simple and feasible energy transition roadmap, featuring a complete range of products and solutions, all aiming to drive and lead change towards alternative and sustainable powertrain systems. This was the first show attended by Sylvain Blaise in his new role as President, Powertrain Business Unit.

The standouts among the numerous new products which piqued the visitors’ interest were the F28 family, with the new “Diesel of the Year 2020” model up to 75 kW, ideal for numerous agricultural applications, such as the small special and utility tractors; the debut of the F28 Hybrid version which represents the best solution for effective use of agricultural e-implements; and the F28 Natural Gas, the first agricultural engine in its class to use an alternative fuel system, and, with the biomethane version installed on a New Holland TK Methane Power crawler tractor, the heart of the three-year partnership agreement signed between FPT Industrial and the historic winery Fontanafredda for the first zero-emissions Barolo vintage.

The new F34 Stage V PowerPack presented at EIMA is a complete pre-assembled “plug & play” solution: the cooling package, air filter and ATS are installed on the engine with an optimized compact layout to facilitate installation and assembly as much as possible.
This innovative solution also reduces fuel consumption, driving down costs and simplifying maintenance. Available in 30 kVA, 40 kVA and 60 kVA G-Drive models, the F34 Stage V/Tier4F for Power Generation has been designed for demanding applications, such as the earthmoving sector, rental and events, and is equipped with the same ATS architecture as the Industrial Power Unit (IPU) versions.

Featuring best-in-class power, torque, fuel consumption and reliability performance, the new N45 is the benchmark in the sector for mid-range applications, and the new versions designed for compatibility with Stage V standards feature further improvements in power output and efficiency.

The most technologically advanced solution in terms of clean energy power units developed specifically for the agricultural sector is represented by the NEF series N67 Natural Gas engine, a 6.7 liter six-cylinder unit which is at the heart of the New Holland T6.180 Methane Power tractor which won the title of “Sustainable Tractor of the Year 2022”. The N67 NG offers performance equivalent to the diesel version in terms of power output, torque, service life and maintenance intervals, guaranteeing the end customer the same level of efficiency and performance in the field with 100% sustainability.

“We guarantee the highest levels of performance and reliability for your vehicle!”: this is the promise made loud and clear by FPT Industrial’s Customer Service department to the agricultural sector at EIMA International 2021. Ensuring this promise is kept is a wide range of solutions grouped together in the FPT Connect cluster of services. The lynchpin of this offering is the Control Room which provides 24/7 monitoring of all engines connected via the dedicated FPT kit or through integration of the main connectivity providers in order to predict, anticipate or resolve any potential faults as quickly as possible.
