FPT-POWERED VESSELS DOMINATE THE WAVES AND THE COMPETITION IN THE MAINE LOBSTERS BOAT RACES

Seven wins and five second places. A pretty good trophy collection for the vessels powered by the exceptional FPT Industrial marine engines for commercial applications at the 2020 Maine Lobster Boat Races, the annual powerboating races held among Maine lobsterers. Exciting and highly competitive races where the best fishing boats face off with no holds barred to earn points, cash prizes and trophies.

The stars this year included Eric Beal, five-time winner in the Diesel Class M(B): the most competitive of all, with about fifteen vessels competing in three races. Eric triumphed aboard his 42-foot Kimberly Ann, powered to success by a brand new 750HP FPT C16 1000, June 27th in Rockland, June 28th in Bass Harbor, July 19th in Friendship, August 8th in Winter Harbor and August 16th in Portland.

The other two FPT wins were accomplished by Captain Jason West with his FV Pier Pressure equipped with an 850HP FPT C16 1000. Jason won in Class M(B) at Moosabec Beach on July 4th and in Class B at Winter Harbor on August 8th. Two wins in two different classes: a nice record!

FPT Industrial marine engines are becoming increasingly popular among lobstering boat owners and this demonstrates that even work vessels are capable of competing at the highest levels in this high-speed race.
