At the end of May, SIH (Saic-Iveco Hongyan Commercial Vehicle), the joint venture between SAIC, IVECO and CQME, delivered 120 Genlyon M500 4x2 port tractors equipped with 350 HP FPT Industrial Cursor 9 engines to SIPG (Shanghai International Port Group), the largest port container logistics operator in the world and the largest port operator in China, which serves 281 transport routes all over the world and manages more than 2,700 ports per month.
This delivery represents the largest single order by SIPG in 2020 and is a positive sign for the global economy. In fact, it demonstrates renewed faith in the future on the part of a group which is a global leader and it marks the recovery of commercial operations in China.
Painted with the characteristic red SIPG good luck symbol and customized for port operations with flat-roofed cabs and custom electrical system, the 120 Genlyon M500 4x2 port tractors mount an FPT Industrial Cursor 9 specially modified engine which guarantees reliable, efficient and sustainable operation for heavy-duty missions on extended shifts like those typical of the container transport management sector.
