THE COMMUNITIES OF CHANGE
ABOUT THIS WEB SERIES
The project entitled “Le comunità del cambiamento” (the communities of change), founded in 2020 by Slow Food Italia with the support of FPT Industrial, contributes to the renewal of lands confiscated from the mafia, and is entrusted to two social co-operatives committed to taking on this challenge in order to restore dignity and productivity to agricultural land which has been completely abandoned.
We are in Sicily, in the municipalities of Partinico and Camporeale (Palermo), where the social co-operatives NoE and Valdibella operate; their founders and workers passionately recounted to us the renewal process in progress, thanks to a partnership which has managed to expand horizons to allow for sustainable growth.
FPT Industrial’s commitment is, indeed, not limited simply to the research and development of engines with a reduced environmental impact, but rather as this project in particular bears witness, it also aims to improve social inclusion and generate dialogue. The local communities are becoming innovation laboratories thanks to the technological contribution from the experts at FPT Industrial and the desire of the Slow Food movement to promote virtuous supply chains and producers in the various regions of Italy.
Guarding traditions while keeping an eye on productivity and sustainable innovation is part of the virtuous circle of a circular economy which is attentive to future generations. This is the strength of the communities of change.
The strength of genuine communities and the value of sustainability told by the protagonists themselves.
