The ​F1C has been specifically designed for Light Commercial Vehicles, and is the result of more than 35 years of experience in the field.

Top-class load response, power and torque output with maximum efficiency are achieved with advanced air handling systems such as two-stage turbocharger, variable geometry turbo with air-to-air charge cooler air unit, or fixed geometry turbo with waste-gate valve.

All engine features have been developed to improve reliability, durability and serviceabil​ity. F1C engines feature dual mass flywheel, hydraulic tappets with roller finger followers, multiple fuel injection, suspended oil pan, bed-plate in addition to engine block.

All F1C engines are available for both transversal and longitudinal installation. F1C is also offered in a Diesel-derived, high-torque CNG version. It can be customized upon demand (options include radiator, air filter, muffler, air compressor and air conditioning arrangements).

Feature & benefits

F1C engines lead the category in terms of power and torque density. Time-to-torque is the shortest in its class. Thermodynamic performance is optimized by advanced air handling systems. Starting temperature (with glow plugs) can be as low as -25° C.

Optimum fuel efficiency has been achieved with SCR introduction, latest-generation Common Rail technology, multi-valve distribution, maintenance-free hydraulic valve adjusters and advanced air handling systems.

20.000hrs at test bench and 1,5Mio Km of fleet test to set the new Durability benchmarking at 400.000 km. Mechanical excellence, optimized DPF regeneration and minimum oil consumption allow service intervals of up to 50.000 km.

For both light duty and heavy-duty F1C engines, EGR in combination with SCR offers the best solution with regard to size and impact on final vehicle capacity to achieve Euro6/VI emission standard.
